Workshop: Statistical reviewing for general medical journals

About the workshop
Providing a statistical review for a medical journal can be a rewarding experience, but there is little formal training on how to go about it. In this interactive workshop, we aim to provide an overview of how to conduct a statistical review for a general medical journal. We also aim to provide some hands-on experience of reviewing some example journal articles. Finally, we aim to provide opportunities for participants to interact with more experienced statistical reviewers, editors and editorial board members, with advice on what opportunities are available and how to get involved with statistical reviewing.

Pre-workshop reading material will be provided in order for participants to contribute to the hands-on aspects of the workshop.

Who is it for? * Early- / mid-career researchers with statistical training. * Working in medical statistics or data science who are interested in statistical reviewing for a medical journal. * Those with no or little experience of statistical reviewing.
NOTE: This workshop is NOT about responding to statistical reviewers comments but to provide guidance on how to provide a statistical peer review.
