Though never far from the spotlight, planning reform is a key aspect of the new government’s growth agenda. Good strategic planning and urban design, and a clear understanding of heritage and the built environment, can help to achieve interconnected economic, social and environmental targets. Likewise, the historic environment can be a source of inspiration for sustainable development.
This talk will explore how heritage fits into the Government’s growth agenda; economic viability; heritage, high streets and housing; and planning for heritage – a more strategic view.
