Designing an Algorithmically Enhanced NHS

For our Clinical Translation theme workshop on 20th March, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm at the Big Data Institute (BDI), we will be hearing from Dr Jessica Morley, postdoctoral research associate at the Digital Ethics Center, Yale University. We are delighted to host Dr Morley, in what promises to be a great workshop!

Date: 20 March 2024
Time: 10:30am – 12:00pm
Venue: BDI, seminar room 1 (followed by lunch in the atrium)
Title: Designing an Algorithmically Enhanced NHS

Abstract : The NHS is in crisis. Policymakers view an increased reliance on data, and especially AI, as a solution to this crisis. This will require the successful implementation of algorithmic clinical decision support software to transform the NHS into a National Learning Healthcare System (NLHS). Based on a three-year, mixed methods research project, this talk will explore what the information infrastructure requirements are for achieving this success.
